Our School
Established in 2001 at the Russian Center of San Francisco, Teremok Preschool is dedicated to nurturing young minds with a strong foundation in early childhood education while celebrating the rich language and culture of our immigrant community.
Our program is thoughtfully designed to immerse children in a Russian bilingual environment, where they can develop linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness. Through engaging activities, interactive play, and creative learning experiences, we strive to create a supportive and dynamic atmosphere where children thrive.
At our preschool, we believe in the importance of fostering a strong sense of identity and community. Our experienced educators are committed to providing a safe, nurturing space where children can explore, grow, and form lasting connections. We take pride in promoting cultural heritage and diversity, ensuring that every child feels valued and respected.
Today, Teremok welcomes families from Russian-speaking and non-Russian-speaking backgrounds who value the benefits of bilingual education, cultural awareness and a small, nurturing preschool environment.
We participate in San Francisco's Early Learning for All program. You may be eligible for free/low cost childcare at our licensed Russian immersion preschool.
Teremok is licensed by the CA Department of Social Services, License # 384000793. Our Staff
Teremok’s educators are fluent in both Russian and English and bring specialized training in their fields—including early childhood education, music, art, folk dance, and administration. Their expertise, creativity, and dedication ensure that every child receives a comprehensive, engaging, and enriching learning experience.
All staff members, including volunteers, undergo comprehensive background checks before joining Teremok. Additionally, they hold certifications in Pediatric First Aid & CPR, Preventative Health & Safety, and Child Nutrition, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for our students.
To maintain excellence, our team regularly participates in training and professional development sessions, staying informed on curriculum advancements, health and safety standards, nutrition guidelines, and federal, state, and local regulations.
